ALT Sports Data secures $5M in sports data funding

ALT Sports Data just landed $5 million in fresh funding. The sports data company says the round was oversubscribed. This move supports their bigger vision to lead in sports engagement across gaming, media, and data—centered on their fast-growing NXTbets platform and sports property deals.

The $5M seed round was co-led by Relay Ventures and Eberg Capital, with additional backing from Motley Fool Ventures and Scrum Ventures. ALT Sports Data said the round was oversubscribed due to investor interest. This round also brought in a strategic investor consortium.
ALT Sports Data plans to use the sports data funding to strengthen its role in emerging sports media and betting ecosystems. Recent exclusive partnerships include Formula 1 and X Games. Their portfolio now includes over 25 global sports properties.
CEO Joe Dunnigan stated that ALT Sports Data is evolving into the “connective tissue” linking sportsbooks and next-gen sports fans. He emphasized how the company is setting up infrastructure that helps rightsholders and fans alike. This includes deeper integration across wagering and media channels.
The company’s in-house platform NXTbets is a major pillar of its engagement model. With thousands of users joining monthly, it offers betting data, odds, and sportsbook discovery. NXTbets serves as a gateway to converting sports fans into active bettors using real-time content.
ASD’s proprietary platform PRTL provides real-time odds, streaming, and pricing tools for major sportsbooks. The company also claims a fan reach of over 175 million globally. This wide reach helps connect stakeholders across leagues, media, and betting platforms.
The new capital will help ASD expand its integrated model across data rights, fan engagement, and content monetization. Their goal is to set a new global standard for how emerging sports are watched and wagered on. The company says this approach creates value for both fans and rightsholders.
