Codere expands in Italy with a fresh move in the south. The group just bought 70% of Codgames through Operbingo Italia. The deal brings Codere into Calabria, strengthening its national reach and local partnerships.
Codere acquired 70% of Codgames Srl, which runs more than 600 gaming machines (AWP and VLT) in Calabria. The acquisition was made via Operbingo Italia, Codere’s Italian subsidiary. The founding Manna family retains a 30% stake in Codgames.
Codere has operated in Italy for over 20 years and sees this move as part of its long-term growth strategy. Adding Codgames helps Codere expand into Calabria, a region with untapped market potential. This deal supports Codere’s goal to grow its presence nationwide.
Alejandro Pascual, Regional Manager Europe and COO of Italy, highlighted the strategic nature of the acquisition. He said Codgames fits well with Codere’s values of professionalism and regional integration. According to Pascual, the deal “opens the door to new opportunities.”
Armando Manna, the new Codere partner and part of the founding family, expressed trust in the alliance. He praised Codere’s experience and local respect, stating the collaboration will help meet future challenges. Manna is a longtime figure in the Calabrian gaming scene.
With this move, Codere confirms Italy as a strategic market for its operations. It aims to build a diversified national network based on responsibility and sustainability. The acquisition of Codgames is part of that broader, long-term vision.
