Evolution has published its Q2 2026 results. The report reflects a business that remained highly profitable despite a small decline in revenue. Expansion in regulated markets, new game launches and additional studio capacity remained key themes during the quarter.

Net revenue came in at EUR 517.8 million, down 1.2% from the same quarter last year. EBITDA was EUR 341.0 million, keeping the margin at 65.9%. Net profit increased to EUR 251.4 million, while earnings per share rose to EUR 1.27.

Live Casino remained the company’s biggest business, generating EUR 437.3 million in revenue. RNG contributed EUR 80.5 million as Evolution continued to expand its game portfolio across both segments. During the quarter, the company released its first Hasbro-branded titles, including Monopoly Roulette and Monopoly Roll’em.

Evolution Q2 2026 also saw further investment in production capacity. New live casino studios opened in Michigan and Argentina, increasing the company’s global footprint. Evolution said regulated markets continued to grow and now account for 49% of total revenue, compared with 44% a year ago.

Regional performance varied across markets. Latin America recorded revenue growth of 26.3%, while North America increased by 9.5% and Europe returned to quarter-on-quarter growth. Asia remained under pressure as the company continued to address cybercrime-related challenges affecting the region.

CEO Martin Carlesund said the company continued to invest for the long term despite the current market environment. “Overall, I am happy with the performance in the quarter,” he said. Evolution Q2 2026 also included continued share buybacks, with more than 5.1 million shares repurchased during the period.

The UK government (here the Department for Culture, Media and Sports) has opened a consultation on new rules that would ban sponsorship and advertising by gambling operators that are not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. The proposed UK gambling sponsorship ban is designed to close a regulatory gap and strengthen consumer protection. Stakeholders can submit their views before the consultation closes on 9 September 2026.

Under the proposal, sports clubs, leagues, venues and event organisers in Great Britain would no longer be allowed to accept sponsorship or advertising from unlicensed gambling operators. The ban would also cover shirt sponsorships, pitch-side advertising, naming rights and other commercial partnerships. The UK gambling sponsorship ban would be introduced through changes to secondary legislation under the Gambling Act 2005.

The UK government said the current rules still allow some offshore operators to sponsor UK organisations if they prevent British customers from accessing their services. However, officials believe these restrictions can be bypassed, creating risks for consumers and undermining the licensed gambling market. The consultation also highlights concerns around financial crime and money laundering linked to unlicensed operators.

Football is expected to be one of the sectors most affected, following a growing number of sponsorship agreements with offshore betting brands. The government’s preferred option is to introduce the new rules before the start of the 2027/28 football season in August 2027. A second option would allow existing contracts to continue until they expire, with a final deadline of August 2028.

The proposed measures would apply across all sectors in Great Britain, not only sport, to prevent unlicensed operators from shifting their marketing to other industries. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said the government intends to “introduce a ban on unlicensed gambling sponsorship and advertising” to strengthen the regulatory framework.

The Czech Ministry of Finance has added Polymarket to its list of “Unauthorised Internet Gambling Games”. Under Czech law, internet service providers now have 15 days to block access to the platform. The decision puts Polymarket Czech Republic in line with a growing number of countries taking action against prediction markets.

Czech authorities say prediction markets work much like traditional betting. Users put money on uncertain events such as elections, sports results, political decisions or even the weather, even if the platforms describe them as contracts instead of bets. Germany, Belgium, Romania, Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine and Brazil have already taken similar action against Polymarket.

The Czech Institute for Gambling Regulation (https://www.iprh.cz) says changing the terminology does not change the nature of the product. It noted that regulators in the Netherlands, France and the UK have all concluded that prediction markets should fall under gambling rules. Jan Řehola, Director of the Institute, said: “If something looks like betting, works like betting and people can win or lose money on uncertain events, we cannot stop treating it as gambling simply because it is called a contract.”

The Institute also pointed to the size of the market. It said Kalshi recorded around USD 238 billion in trading volume during 2025, while Polymarket handled about USD 220 billion. According to the Institute, products of this scale should be subject to the same rules on player protection, anti-money laundering and market oversight as licensed gambling operators. Polymarket Czech Republic is expected to remain part of that discussion.

The Ministry’s decision is expected to serve as a reference point for future cases involving prediction markets. The Institute said other similar platforms are still available internationally and should also be reviewed under Czech gambling law where appropriate.

Evolution has agreed a GBP 4.75 million (ca. EUR 5.6 million) settlement with the UK Gambling Commission. The Evolution UK settlement brings to an end a licence review that began in December 2024. The company said it remains focused on supplying games to licensed operators in the UK while continuing to strengthen its compliance measures.

The settlement relates to Evolution game content being available through two operators on six websites that offered games to British consumers without a UK licence. According to the company, this breached its supply terms and the operators actively worked around existing restrictions. During the 18-month review, no wider pattern of unlicensed access to Evolution content in the UK was identified.

Evolution said it fully cooperated with the UK Gambling Commission throughout the review process. The company also stated that it regularly takes technical, legal and commercial action to prevent unauthorised access to its games. The commercial relationships with the two operators involved were ended as soon as the issue was discovered.

The Evolution UK settlement also follows further investment in compliance controls. Evolution said it has introduced stronger ring-fencing measures and continues to improve its internal procedures. The company noted that while no system can completely prevent third parties from trying to bypass controls, it will continue investing in compliance standards.

CEO Martin Carlesund said: “At Evolution, we always want to do what is right, and it is not acceptable that six unlicensed sites offered Evolution content in the regulated UK market.” He added that the company does not want traffic from unlicensed operators and will continue acting quickly if similar situations arise. The Evolution UK settlement closes the review as the company continues working with licensed UK operators.

Argentina’s regulated online gaming market is highly competitive and driven by local operators. The new Argentina iGaming report from GR8_TECH explores where operators can still find opportunities despite strong competition. The report examines visibility, SEO, affiliates, mobile, sports betting, casino content, slot suppliers, and player acquisition across the market.

Argentina’s online gambling market continues to grow as more licensed operators compete for players. A new visibility ranking compares operators using website traffic, organic search performance and Google Trends data. The latest results place Betsson at the top of the market for March/April 2026.

Betsson achieved the highest visibility index with a score of 100, ahead of Betano on 83 and Bet365 on 55. The three brands were clearly ahead of the rest of the market. Together, they accounted for 74% of the overall visibility measured in the study.

The visibility index combines three indicators: estimated organic search traffic, total website visits and Google Trends data. Each operator was scored on a scale from 0 to 100 for every KPI. The final ranking is based on the combined performance across all three metrics.

The report notes that online visibility should not be seen as a direct measure of operator revenue. Player mix, including the share of VIP customers, and bonus strategies can have a major impact on financial performance. Visibility instead reflects the strength of a brand’s online presence.
