Flutter just cleared a major hurdle. It got the green light to buy Snai, one of Italy’s biggest betting brands. This move backs up Flutter’s Snai acquisition Italy strategy and locks in its lead in a key market.
Flutter received final approval from all relevant antitrust, gaming, and regulatory bodies to proceed with the acquisition of Snaitech S.p.A. (Snai). Snai is one of Italy’s top omni-channel betting operators. The deal now positions Flutter more firmly in Europe’s biggest regulated gambling market.
The acquisition is based on an enterprise value of €2.3 billion in cash. Flutter is acquiring Snai from a Playtech plc subsidiary. The deal is expected to close before the end of April 2025.
This purchase aligns with Flutter’s ongoing strategy to build leadership in international markets. Adding Snai brings further access to Flutter’s tech and products. The company says this increases scale and enhances growth opportunities in Italy.
Flutter’s portfolio already includes major brands like FanDuel, Paddy Power, PokerStars, and Betfair. By adding Snai, it deepens its presence in Italy alongside existing brand Sisal. The company sees long-term value from increased customer reach and product integration.
Flutter recorded global revenue of $14.05 billion in 2024, with 19% year-on-year growth. Q4 2024 alone generated $3.79 billion. These figures highlight the scale it brings into the Italian market through the Snai acquisition Italy expansion.
The company emphasizes its “Flutter Edge” advantage—group-wide benefits and innovation to outpace competitors. It plans to bring these benefits to Snai’s operations. “We believe we can deliver long-term growth while promoting a positive, sustainable future,” Flutter stated.
