MGM Resorts is keeping its top boss for another few years. The company has just signed a new employment agreement with CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle. The MGM Resorts CEO contract now runs through the end of 2028 and includes plans for Hornbuckle to stay on as an advisor for the Osaka resort opening.

  • Bill Hornbuckle’s new contract will keep him in charge of MGM Resorts until December 31, 2028. After that, he’ll transition into an advisory role, specifically supporting the company’s Osaka integrated resort project in Japan. This aligns with MGM’s ongoing international expansion plans.

  • The MGM Resorts CEO contract follows Hornbuckle’s leadership during the COVID-19 crisis and the company’s recent growth efforts. He helped guide digital investments, strategic acquisitions, and global developments. His leadership has also included a focus on guest experience and innovation.

  • Chairman Paul Salem praised Hornbuckle’s performance and expressed strong support for the extended contract. Salem highlighted Hornbuckle’s ability to drive growth while earning stakeholder trust. “We’re thrilled that he has agreed to remain in his role for the foreseeable future,” he said.

  • Hornbuckle commented on the agreement, calling it an exciting time for MGM. He mentioned growth in New York, Japan, Brazil, and the Middle East as areas of focus. He credited the company’s success to its leadership team and staff.

  • As CEO, Hornbuckle manages MGM Resorts’ global strategy, operations, and development. He also oversees digital gaming initiatives and chairs key roles in MGM China and U.S. travel organizations. His responsibilities will expand into supporting new markets like Asia via the Japan project.
