Nicolas Béraud has been re-elected as President of the French Online Gaming Association (AFJEL). The AFJEL presidency election also saw Alexandre Roos, President of Winamax, appointed as Vice-President. The association aims to enhance industry regulation, security, and innovation.
Nicolas Béraud, founder of Betclic, was unanimously re-elected as AFJEL President during the extraordinary General Assembly on March 4, 2025. Alexandre Roos, President of Winamax, joins as Vice-President, bringing additional expertise to the association. AFJEL now represents almost the entire online gaming sector.
The association will intensify efforts to combat illegal online gaming, which affects 4 million players and poses risks to public health and digital security. The growing illegal market creates unfair competition and endangers regulated operators. AFJEL aims to strengthen legal protections for players.
Player safety remains a priority, with AFJEL committed to adopting top-tier technological and regulatory measures. The association seeks to ensure a legal, responsible, and enjoyable gaming experience for French players while reinforcing industry credibility.
Nicolas Béraud emphasized AFJEL’s role in protecting players, tackling cybercrime, and upholding technological standards. “Now strengthened by the arrival of Winamax, AFJEL is the only professional association to represent online gaming tech companies,” he stated.
