Playtech is shaking up its leadership. The company just announced a new chairman is coming onboard. The Playtech chairman appointment is part of a planned transition.

  • John Gleasure has been appointed as Non-executive Director and Chairman Elect of Playtech. He will succeed current Chairman Brian Mattingley following the company’s AGM in May 2025. The appointment supports Playtech’s ongoing B2B transformation strategy.

  • Gleasure brings 30 years of experience in sports, media, and tech to the board. He has held senior roles at DAZN Group, The Sporting News, Sky Sports, Hutchison 3G, and Sony Pictures. He was also a founder of Perform, a digital sports media company that served online betting firms.

  • The current Chairman, Brian Mattingley, expressed strong support for the transition. “John’s significant experience and knowledge will be a tremendous asset for Playtech,” he said. Mattingley will step down after the AGM.

  • Gleasure will receive a fee of £140,000 per year in his role as Non-executive Director. A revised fee will be announced when he assumes the chairman position in May. The change will be officially confirmed via another statement.
