ZEAL (the company behind Lotto24 and Tipp24) hit a triple milestone in its 2024 anniversary year. It grew customer numbers, revenue, and earnings to record levels. ZEAL 2024 revenue became a key highlight of its annual report.
ZEAL 2024 revenue reached €188.2 million, a 62% increase year-on-year. That growth was mostly driven by lottery sales, which brought in €168.3 million. ZEAL also improved its online market share to 43.8%, up 2.4 percentage points.
ZEAL added 1.26 million new customers in 2024, more than doubling the previous year’s number. That’s the first time ZEAL passed the one-million mark in a year. Cost per lead fell 23% to €35.16 due to more efficient marketing.
EBITDA almost doubled to €61.9 million, up from €32.9 million the year before. The company cited scaling effects and marketing efficiency as main reasons. EBIT also more than doubled to €53.7 million.
Billings from lotteries passed the one billion euro mark for the first time, reaching €1.08 billion. A higher average jackpot and a ticket fee increase contributed to the result. Gross margin improved by 3.1 points to 15.6%.
ZEAL’s marketing expenses rose by 58% to €56.9 million. Other operating costs also went up, totaling €98 million due to growth and advisory expenses. Despite higher costs, profitability increased significantly.
ZEAL launched its first Dream House Raffle in 2024, selling 14 million tickets. The raffle raised around €1.8 million for charity, including €1.2 million for DKMS. CEO Helmut Becker said the format “exceeded all expectations.”
A major structural step came with the full takeover of LOTTO24 AG. The squeeze-out was completed in October 2024. A profit and loss transfer agreement was recorded in November 2024.
ZEAL proposes a dividend of €2.40 per share for 2024, up from €1.10. The payout includes a €1.30 regular dividend and €1.10 special dividend. This brings total shareholder distribution to €50.6 million.
For 2025, ZEAL expects revenue of €195–205 million and EBITDA between €55–60 million. The company aims to grow its lottery and charity games portfolio. This includes scaling up the Traumhausverlosung format further.
