Svenska Spel has extended its sponsorship of Sweden’s SHL and SDHL until 30 June 2031. The Svenska Spel hockey partnership keeps the operator as main sponsor of both leagues. The company has sponsored the leagues since 2021.
- The agreement covers the SHL, SDHL and their member clubs. Svenska Spel will continue working with both leagues on activities around Swedish ice hockey. The partnership also includes SHL’s community programme, Impact by SHL.
- More than 25% of SDHL players can now earn a living from playing ice hockey. The league says player conditions have improved since Svenska Spel became main sponsor in 2021. The Svenska Spel hockey partnership will continue its support for the women’s league through 2031.
- SHL recorded 2.9 million visits to its matches, according to Svenska Spel. CEO Anna Johnson said: “We are proud to continue contributing to the development of Swedish hockey.” The agreement runs until 30 June 2031.
