Spelinspektionen, Sweden’s gambling regulator, reported Q2 2026 licensed and preliminary gambling market figures. Spelinspektionen calculates turnover as stakes minus winnings, broadly corresponding to GGR.
- Total Sweden gambling GGR reached SEK 7.38bn (ca. EUR 0.66bn), compared with SEK 7.02bn (ca. EUR 0.63bn) in Q2 2025 (+5.1%). The regulator said the figures may still be revised.
- Commercial online gambling and betting generated SEK 4.96bn (ca. EUR 0.45bn) in GGR, up around 7% from SEK 4.63bn (ca. EUR 0.42bn) a year earlier. This segment includes online casino and sports betting and accounted for about two-thirds of the licensed market.
- State lottery and cash machine games generated SEK 1.43bn (ca. EUR 0.13bn) in GGR, compared with SEK 1.42bn (ca. EUR 0.13bn) in Q2 2025. This category includes both online and retail lottery sales, as well as land-based gaming machines. Spelinspektionen does not provide a separate online and land-based GGR split.
- Public-benefit lotteries generated SEK 863m (ca. EUR 78m) in Q2 2026 (Q2 2025: SEK 846m or EUR 76m). This category includes both online and land-based lottery activity, with Spelinspektionen not publishing a channel split.

- Almost 138,000 people were registered with Spelpaus – Sweden’s national gambling self-exclusion system – at the end of Q2 2026. This was 0.7% fewer than at the end of Q1 2026.
