Denmark has proposed tighter rules for gambling advertising, online casinos and unlicensed operators. The Denmark gambling regulations also cover player protection and supplier licensing. Bill L37 is now before Parliament.

  • Gambling advertising: Denmark plans tighter rules for gambling marketing. Operators would need to include gambling risk warnings in advertisements. Further requirements could follow through separate regulations.
  • Offshore gambling: The bill targets unlicensed gambling websites serving Danish players. Websites accepting bets from Denmark could fall under Danish law. This also includes services targeting Danish customers.
  • Online casino restrictions: Denmark plans to ban bonus-buy features in slot games. Players would no longer be able to pay for direct access to bonus rounds. The ban would cover online and land-based slots.
  • Player protection: Operators could no longer offer predefined deposit limits. Players would have to choose their own amounts. Customer funds would also need to be kept separate.
  • Supplier licensing: The Denmark gambling regulations also clarify supplier licensing requirements. Suppliers must hold the required authorisation to serve Danish operators. Certain provisions would take effect in October 2027.
  • Legislative process: Bill L37 has not yet been approved. Its first parliamentary reading is scheduled for October 22, 2026.
