Betano Super Cup sponsorship is now official, with the operator signing on as the title partner of one of Portugal’s most watched football events. The agreement kicks in immediately, just ahead of this year’s Sporting CP vs SL Benfica match. Fans can expect new activations and fan experiences linked to the sponsorship.
Betano has teamed up with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) to take over naming rights for the Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup. The event is now officially the Cândido de Oliveira Betano Super Cup. The agreement will start with the 2025 edition.
The 2025 match will be played on 31 July at the Algarve Stadium. Sporting CP and SL Benfica will compete for the trophy in this year’s edition. Betano will have visibility across the venue and digital channels.
This deal reinforces Betano’s presence in Portuguese football, where it has operated for six years. The operator already sponsors several football properties worldwide. The Super Cup sponsorship builds on that portfolio.
The FPF stated the sponsorship aims to reposition Portuguese football on the global stage. The federation expects the deal to add new energy to the competition. João Medeiros Cardoso of the FPF said Betano will “enhance the Super Cup” and boost its entertainment value.
Ricardo Branquinho, Country Manager for Betano Portugal, said the deal shows the brand’s commitment to the sport. He called it “the start of the football season in Portugal” and a chance to bring fans closer to the game.
The sponsorship gives Betano broad branding rights across the competition. This includes stadium advertising, broadcast integration, and digital promotion. The agreement covers the current edition and future tournaments.
