The Rank Group has announced that John H. Ott will become the company’s new chair, effective 17 November 2025. The Rank Group chair appointment follows a thorough search process and marks a key change in board leadership. Ott’s arrival signals the company’s focus on strengthening governance and long-term strategy.

• John H. Ott brings more than four decades of experience in finance, consulting, and global business. He currently serves as Senior Advisory Partner at Bain & Company in the UK, where he has worked since 2006. His career also includes leadership roles at McKinsey & Company and Barclays Bank, where he led group strategy and mergers and acquisitions.

• In addition to his consulting career, Ott is a founder and investor in two private businesses — one in data and technology services and another in global fractional ownership. His broad business background is expected to add valuable perspective as Rank continues its digital and operational transformation.

• Ott succeeds Karen Whitworth, who has served as interim chair since 15 October 2025. Whitworth will return to her previous roles as Senior Independent Director and Audit Chair. She said Ott stood out during a “rigorous and wide-ranging selection process” and will bring the expertise and leadership Rank needs for its next phase of growth.
