Brightstar has secured a fresh long-term deal to continue running the Italy Lotto. The decision follows a competitive bid process concluded earlier this year. The Italy Lotto agreement ensures continuity for one of the world’s biggest number games.
LottoItalia, the consortium led by Brightstar and including Allwyn, Arianna 2001 and Novomatic Italia, will operate the lottery until November 2034. The award was confirmed by Italy’s gambling and lottery regulator ADM (Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli) after the July 2025 tender (at this time Brightstar was still named International Gaming Technology PLC), keeping Brightstar in place after more than 30 years managing the game. The Italy Lotto agreement covers the world’s largest fixed-odds number game.
Brightstar plans to expand digital access, modernise retail and grow iLottery activity over the new term. CEO Renato Ascoli said the focus will be on “new player touchpoints and digitization of the retail experience.” The company also expects to add iCasino, sports betting and additional digital products for players in Italy.
With nearly 90 lottery customers across six continents, Brightstar remains a major supplier to regulated markets. It supports 26 of the 46 U.S. lottery jurisdictions and eight of the world’s ten largest lotteries. The Italy Lotto agreement further strengthens its global lottery footprint.
