Cyrille Giraudat will take over as PMU’s chief executive in early January 2026, following approval from PMU’s parent societies and oversight ministries. The move marks a renewed focus on development, customer satisfaction and responsible play. The PMU leadership change also brings back an executive who previously guided the group through France’s online market opening.

  • Giraudat’s mandate centres on speeding up PMU’s transformation and lifting customer satisfaction in a responsible-play framework. A graduate of École Centrale de Lille, he has held senior marketing roles at Danone, Thomson Multimedia and Samsung. He also led digital and customer projects at Europcar, RATP Dev and most recently Nexity.

  • From 2004 to 2014, Giraudat served as PMU’s marketing, customer and digital director, helping steer the group through online-market liberalisation. “It was a pivotal shift for the company,” he previously noted of that period. His return aligns with PMU leadership change goals to update digital strategy and customer operations.

  • PMU continues to run horse-racing betting across 14,200 retail outlets and online, with 85% of stakes coming from retail channels. The group also operates sports betting and poker since 2010. PMU’s activity funds the French racing sector, contributing EUR 837m in 2024.
