PointsBet has confirmed a planned leadership change at group level. The Australian-listed operator will hand over executive duties early next year. The PointsBet Group CEO role will transfer from February 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

  • Andrew Catterall(see picture below) has been appointed PointsBet Group CEO after serving as CEO of the company’s Australian operations since 2022. He will take up the group role on 1 February 2026, pending customary gaming and licensing approvals. The board said his appointment follows a period of operational and commercial changes in the Australian business.

  • Catterall will succeed founder Sam Swanell, who will remain involved during a formal transition and handover period. After this, Swanell will move into an advisory position within the group. He will also continue to sit on the board as an executive director.

  • Chairman Brett Paton thanked Swanell for his role in building the company and welcomed the incoming PointsBet Group CEO. “Sam has guided PointsBet through every stage of its development and growth,” Paton said. He added that the board looks forward to working closely with Andrew Catterall as he takes on the role.
