LiveScore Malta Limited has confirmed it will withdraw the LiveScore Bet brand from Bulgaria, with operations set to end by late 2025. The move follows changes to the UK tax framework and a wider review of market exposure across the group. Customers and employees in Bulgaria have already been informed as the exit process begins.
The decision follows the UK government’s 2025 Autumn Budget, which increased both Remote Gaming Duty and General Betting Duty. These measures raised operating costs across LiveScore Group’s business. LiveScore Bet Bulgaria was reviewed as part of a broader effort to manage financial exposure.
Regulatory uncertainty in Bulgaria also influenced the decision. Local authorities are considering a tax increase to help reduce the national budget deficit. This lack of clarity made long-term planning for LiveScore Bet Bulgaria more difficult.
All affected employees have entered a confidential consultation process, while customers are being notified of the planned closure. The company said the exit will be managed in line with local requirements. A spokesperson said: “This decision reflects the combined impact of UK tax changes and ongoing uncertainty in Bulgaria.”
