The Grand National has once again come out on top in Entain’s yearly review of betting activity. The ranking is based on sportsbook data from across Entain’s international brands and markets. This year’s Entain betting events list points to a clear focus on headline fixtures with global reach.

  • Horse racing led the way, with the Grand National ranking first among all Entain betting events in 2025. The Cheltenham Gold Cup placed 14th, while the Coral Scottish Grand National finished 21st. Several races from Cheltenham Festival Friday also made the top 50, underlining the meeting’s steady appeal for bettors.

  • American football continued to attract heavy betting volumes, with the Super Bowl ranked second overall. Both the AFC and NFC Championship games featured in the top six, showing interest extends well beyond the final itself. A number of standalone NFL games also appeared, reflecting strong engagement around prime-time broadcasts.

  • Football finals featured heavily across the list, with the Champions League Final ranked fifth and the Club World Cup Final seventh. The Nations League Final also placed inside the top 10, while the Copa Libertadores Final made the top 20. Champions League knockout matches appeared multiple times, pointing to consistent betting interest across the competition.

Football accounted for 30 of the top 50 events (60%), followed by American football with 14 entries (28%). Horse racing featured five times (10%), while golf appeared once through the US Masters.

  • Greg Ferris, managing director of sports at Entain, said: “The Grand National and the Super Bowl are cultural phenomena that transcend sports and are annual traditions for recreational customers.” He added that the range of sports in the rankings reflects the different interests of customers across regions.
