Veikkaus closed 2025 with financial results slightly above its internal target while continuing to prepare for Finland’s future licensed gambling market – see more details:

  • Veikkaus reported underlying operating income of EUR 936.3m in 2025, compared with EUR 959.1m the year before. Operating profit reached EUR 431.6m, while profit for the period stood at EUR 447.2m. The company said the result slightly exceeded its internal target for the year.

  • The Finnish operator will transfer EUR 466.4m in gaming revenue to ownership steering for 2025. In total, EUR 578.3m will be distributed to the State of Finland which is a key part of the public funding model tied to Veikkaus’ gambling operations.

  • International activities expanded through Fennica Gaming, Veikkaus’ B2B subsidiary. Net sales from its Games as a Service business almost doubled during the year. The company also signed several new distribution agreements aimed at supporting future international growth.

  • Veikkaus also reported improved performance in its Online Casino and Betting business group, which is expected to become the company’s licensing subsidiary. Net sales and market share in Finland began to rise toward the end of the year. The segment is expected to play a central role once the regulated market opens.

  • The Veikkaus 2025 results were affected by several operational factors during the year. Lottery and slot machine revenue was impacted by lower-than-average jackpot levels in lottery games. At the same time, payouts in Keno were higher than usual.

  • Veikkaus ended 2025 with nearly 2.7 million registered customers after adding around 70,000 new players during the year while digital channels accounted for 61% of total gaming revenue in Finland. The company views this digital base as important ahead of market liberalisation.

  • CEO Olli Sarekoski said the second half of the year showed stronger momentum. “The group’s result for 2025 slightly exceeded the target set, and the decline in operating margin was halted in the second half of the year,” he said. According to Sarekoski, developments in international operations and online gambling support expectations of growth in 2026.
