The US prediction markets sector has gained another regulated participant following a new designation by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) – see more details:

  • CFTC has designated ProphetX LLC as a Designated Contract Market (DCM), according to a filing published on 11 June 2026 allowing the company to operate a regulated marketplace for futures and event-based contracts.
  • The filing includes ProphetX’s rulebook, compliance documentation and the official order of designation. DCM status places ProphetX among exchanges regulated under the Commodity Exchange Act and overseen by the CFTC.
  • Founded in 2018, ProphetX operates a sports-focused prediction exchange and has previously offered a licensed betting exchange in New Jersey before expanding through a sweepstakes model across much of the US. Led by co-founder and CEO Dean Sisun, the company focuses on peer-to-peer event trading and sports prediction markets.
