BetMakers has moved to clarify speculation around a possible BetMakers Tabcorp takeover. The ASX-listed supplier responded after reports suggested Tabcorp was exploring a change of control deal. It said discussions did take place, but only at an early and informal stage.
BetMakers confirmed it was approached by Tabcorp regarding a potential acquisition of the business. The talks were preliminary in nature and no formal proposal was submitted. BetMakers added that discussions have now ceased without progressing to a binding offer.
The statement followed an article published on 11 February 2026 in the Australian Financial Review. BetMakers said it considered it appropriate to update the market given the speculation around a BetMakers Tabcorp takeover. The announcement was authorised for release by the BetMakers Board of Directors.
BetMakers and Tabcorp already work together under an existing commercial agreement while BetMakers supplies wagering technology and content distribution services to support Tabcorp’s racing and media operations. While the BetMakers Tabcorp takeover discussions pointed to possible opportunities for its technology products, there is currently no ongoing transaction process.
