Better Collective has rolled out Playbook, an AI-powered betting solution built to make betting simpler and more engaging for sports fans. Instead of jumping between tips and sportsbook apps, Playbook connects the two so a bet can be placed in just a couple of clicks. The launch went live in the US on September 3, just as the NFL season kicked off.

  • Playbook works by using AI to recognize bet slip images and create smart deep links that connect directly to sportsbook apps. This means fans can move from reading a piece of betting content to having the bet pre-loaded in seconds. For sportsbooks, it’s a way to keep players engaged and reduce drop-offs before bets are placed.

  • The idea was tested earlier this year during the Super Bowl, when Better Collective trialed retention-focused products with football fans in New Orleans. Those pilots have now been developed into a full solution with Playbook, giving the company a tool that goes beyond customer acquisition and into long-term engagement.

  • “Playbook reflects our ambition to lead in delivering unique and engaging sports betting experiences for sports fans and bettors while driving strong retention value for our partners,” said Jesper Søgaard, Co-Founder and CEO of Better Collective.

  • The first rollout is in the US, with NFL betting seen as the natural starting point. Better Collective already has a strong presence through its owned sports media and partnerships, which it says will help bring Playbook to millions of users quickly. Plans are in place to expand into more regulated markets soon.
