Betway is bringing horse racing back to Towcester through a new long-term partnership with Orchestrate – the operator of Towcester Racecourse which took over the racecourse in 2025 with a 10-year lease.
- Betway has become the Principal Strategic Partner of the Northamptonshire venue, while also securing exclusive betting rights across all race fixtures. The agreement marks the first partnership of its kind in UK horse racing, combining naming rights with exclusive betting sponsorship. The venue will officially operate as Betway Towcester Racecourse.
- Refurbishment work is already underway, with investment exceeding GBP 2 million (ca. EUR 2.3 million) across the track and facilities. Organisers are targeting the start of the 2027/28 jumps season for the return of National Hunt racing.
- The return of racing will also be followed in a fly-on-the-wall documentary series planned for release in 2027. Betway ambassador and seven-time Irish Champion National Hunt jockey Paul Townend will contribute to the project, with particular attention given to jockey welfare and racing facilities. Lewis Knowles, PR Manager at Betway, said: “Towcester has such a rich history within British racing, and we’re delighted to be partnering with the team there to bring horse racing back to what is such an iconic racecourse.”
- Orchestrate Chairman Mike Davis said the partnership fulfils the ambition to restore racing at Towcester for both the local community and the wider racing industry. The reopening remains subject to licensing approval from the British Horseracing Authority.
