IGT is putting its lottery business under a new name, Brightstar Lottery. The move comes as the company gets ready to wrap up the sale of its Gaming and Digital division. The Brightstar Lottery launch signals IGT’s pivot to becoming a global lottery-only brand.

  • The rebrand takes effect ahead of the expected July 1, 2025, sale of IGT Gaming to Voyager Parent, a company backed by Apollo Global Management. That sale also includes Everi Holdings and is set to close at the same time. After the deal, Apollo and Everi will keep using the IGT name, while Brightstar focuses entirely on lottery.

  • Brightstar Lottery is being pitched as a forward-facing brand rooted in IGT’s nearly five decades of lottery experience. CEO Vince Sadusky said the company is starting this new chapter “with a future-forward mindset” to help lotteries keep up with tech shifts and player demands.

  • Once the deal closes, Brightstar will be working with around 90 lottery clients worldwide, including 26 of the 46 U.S. state lotteries. It also powers seven of the ten biggest lotteries in the world. The goal is to keep pushing innovation while supporting both retail and digital lottery systems.

  • The legal name is still International Game Technology PLC for now, but it’s expected to switch to Brightstar Lottery PLC after the deal closes. Shares will trade under the new ticker “BRSL” starting around July 2, 2025. Investors won’t need to take any action related to the rebrand.

  • Brightstar says it will continue to run a full-service model—from game development and tech systems to scratch tickets and instant games. The company employs about 6,000 people worldwide and plans to keep evolving its tech to stay relevant in today’s market.

  • Board Executive Chair Marco Sala emphasized that Brightstar is aiming to grow the lottery space “responsibly for the entertainment of players” and to support the good causes lotteries fund. The company sees its role as both a tech provider and a trusted long-term partner.
