Figures from the Danish Gambling Authority show growth compared in H1 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The Danish gambling market was driven by online casino, while betting revenue slowed down.
Total gross gambling revenue stood at DKK 3.796bn between January and June 2025 (H1 2024: 3.635bn). Online casino was the largest contributor.
Online casino gross revenue reached DKK 1.993bn in the six-month period analysed (H1 2024: DKK 1.724bn). This accounted for more than half of the total market.
Betting generated DKK 1.036bn in H1 2025 (H1 2024: 1.134bn) in gross revenue and was split as follows: ca. 86% came from interactive channels (mobile: 70% and computer: 16%) and 14% from retail betting (H1 2024: 70% mobile; 15% computer; 15% retail betting).
Land-based casinos produced DKK 177m over the half-year in gross revenue (H1 2024: DKK 185m). Gross revenues ranged between DKK 28m and DKK 32m per month. The segment remained stable with minor changes.
Slot machines generated DKK 577m in H1 2025 in gross revenue (H1 2024: DKK 592m). May was the strongest month, contributing DKK 105m to the total. Compared to online play, growth was slower in this channel.
Land-based bingo contributed DKK 14m across the six months in gross revenue. Monthly gross revenues were between DKK 2m and DKK 3m. This remains the smallest part of the Danish gambling market.
