Danske Spil Q1 2025 results are in. The group saw a boost in gross gaming revenue, driven mainly by its lottery arm. But earnings after tax took a small dip, in part due to one-off income in the comparison period.

  • Gross gaming revenue (BSI) landed at DKK 1.276bn, up DKK 32m from Q1 2024. Danske Lotteri Spil contributed DKK 733m, and Danske Licens Spil added DKK 396m. Klasselotteriet posted DKK 75m, while Elite Gaming dropped to DKK 71m.

  • Net profit after tax was DKK 500m, which is DKK 10m lower than the same quarter last year. This dip comes despite BSI growth and is mainly due to Swush divestment gains in 2024 and lower financial income this year. Swush was sold in 2024, which added to last year’s results.

  • Danske Lotteri Spil drove the overall BSI increase. Sales were up thanks to strong performance from Vikinglotto. However, Eurojackpot revenue dropped due to fewer high jackpot draws compared to 2024.

  • Sports betting under Danske Licens Spil saw a slight BSI rise. Growth came from the online segment, while casino reported a slight fall. This kept total Licens Spil performance almost flat year-on-year.

  • Klasselotteriet saw an 11m improvement in BSI, reaching DKK 75m. This was helped by a product update introduced in Q4 2024, titled “15 er magisk”.

  • Elite Gaming recorded a DKK 4m decline in BSI compared to Q1 last year. This brought the segment down to DKK 71m. No further breakdown was given for that fall.

  • CEO Nikolas Lyhne-Knudsen said: “We continue focusing on healthy gambling habits through our ‘Spil med omtanke’ initiative and other responsible gaming measures.” The company is aiming to reduce gambling harm while maintaining commercial momentum.
