DraftKings is preparing to enter Alberta’s regulated market. The DraftKings Alberta launch is planned for July 13, pending approval. The move would expand its footprint in Canada beyond Ontario.

  • DraftKings plans to launch both sportsbook and online casino products in Alberta, subject to licensing. The rollout is tied to the province’s expected market opening date. The DraftKings Alberta launch would mark its second Canadian province after Ontario.
  • Alberta would become the 34th jurisdiction in North America where DraftKings offers online sports betting. It would also be the seventh market where it runs online casino operations. The expansion follows the operator’s ongoing push into regulated markets.
  • The planned launch coincides with the FIFA World Cup in North America, which DraftKings flagged as a key engagement period. Greg Karamitis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports at DraftKings, said: “It’s a particularly exciting moment for sports fans in the province to engage with our platform.” Pre-registration for Alberta users is already open ahead of the expected go-live.
