Evolution is expanding its presence as the Canadian province of Alberta online gaming enters a new phase. The province has launched a competitive regulated market, allowing licensed commercial operators to offer online gaming services. The move gives more players access to Evolution’s portfolio through multiple operators.
- Alberta has moved away from its previous single-operator model, where regulated online gaming was available only through the government-run PlayAlberta platform. Licensed commercial operators can now enter the market under the new regulatory framework. This change increases competition while maintaining regulated player protections.
- Evolution has been supplying Live Casino and online slot content to PlayAlberta since 2021. Following the market opening in Alberta, the company has signed agreements with licensed commercial operators to expand access to its portfolio. The Alberta online gaming rollout includes Live Casino games, game shows, First Person titles and online slots.
- Jacob Claesson, Chief Executive Officer of Evolution North America, said: “Evolution has been proud to serve players in Alberta since 2021 through PlayAlberta.” He added that the opening of the commercial market is “an exciting next step” as more operators enter the province. Evolution said it will continue supporting its operator partners as the market develops.
- Evolution said the regulated market will provide players with greater choice while giving licensed operators access to its gaming content. The company believes a competitive regulated environment supports long-term market growth. Alberta online gaming is the latest step in Evolution’s strategy to support newly regulated jurisdictions across North America.
