Flutter Entertainment just locked in a major move in Brazil. The company has officially completed the acquisition of a 56% stake in NSX Group. This marks a key step forward in its international expansion strategy, especially in the fast-growing Brazilian market where the Betnacional brand is prominent.
Flutter Entertainment paid around $350 million in cash for a 56% stake in NSX Group. The Brazilian group operates the Betnacional brand, a well-known name in local sports betting. The Flutter NSX acquisition brings the brand under partial ownership of one of the global online betting leaders.
The acquisition supports Flutter’s aim to secure leadership in international markets. Brazil, now one of the most promising markets for regulated online betting, plays a central role in this strategy. Flutter’s move comes ahead of expected regulatory changes.
NSX, through Betnacional, is a major player in Brazil’s online betting sector. Its operations and customer base provide Flutter with a strategic foothold. Flutter noted the acquisition enhances its market exposure and regional expertise.
Flutter stated that the Flutter NSX acquisition was fully funded in cash, totaling approximately $350 million. The company now holds a majority interest in NSX. A full buyout option may remain open in the future.
“We are excited to partner with NSX and strengthen our position in Brazil,” said a Flutter spokesperson. The deal aligns with Flutter’s ongoing focus on growth in regulated or soon-to-be regulated markets. Brazil’s sports culture and digital adoption rate make it a high-potential area for iGaming.
