Flutter Entertainment plans to cut up to 1,400 jobs across its UK and Ireland business. The Flutter UK restructuring follows higher UK gambling taxes. The plans remain subject to employee consultation.

  • Job cuts: Up to 1,400 employees could be affected, including staff in Leeds and Dublin. The plans also cover UKI employees in Porto and Cluj-Napoca. Flutter currently employs around 9,000 people in its UKI business.
  • Tax increases: UK remote gaming duty rose to 40% in April 2026, while online sports betting duty will increase to 25% in April 2027. Flutter estimates a USD 540 million (ca. EUR 482 million) impact on adjusted EBITDA in 2027 before mitigation. The Flutter UK restructuring is part of its response to these higher costs.
  • Restructuring costs: Flutter expects USD 80–90 million (ca. EUR 71–80 million) in restructuring costs in Q4 2026. UKI CEO Kevin Harrington said the company cannot “fully absorb a rise of this magnitude” without reducing fixed costs. The restructuring aims to lower operating expenses.
