Gordon Moody has confirmed two senior leadership changes following its Trustee Board meeting in May 2026 appointing a new Chair of Trustees and confirming a permanent chief executive. The Gordon Moody leadership appointments come as the charity continues to expand its gambling harm treatment and recovery services.

  • Gordon Moody has appointed Claire Arnold as Chair of Trustees, succeeding the late Nazir Badat. Arnold has served on the board for five years. She said she is honoured to take on the role and support the organisation’s next phase of development.
  • The charity has also confirmed Jon Murray as Chief Executive Officer after six months as Interim Managing Director. During that time, he led a programme of organisational and strategic change. This included expanding services and strengthening internal structures.
  • Under Murray’s leadership, Gordon Moody developed integrated treatment pathways and expanded digital recovery services through gambling therapy. The organisation also created new partnership and commissioning opportunities. It has continued preparations for the emerging NHS England commissioning framework.
  • Gordon Moody, according to Murray, will continue to strengthen partnerships and recovery pathways. The appointments mark a new chapter as the organisation expands support for people affected by gambling-related harm.
  • Gordon Moody, founded in 1971, is one of the UK’s longest-established gambling harm charities, providing residential treatment, community support and digital recovery services through gambling therapy for individuals and families affected by problem gambling.
