The UK Gambling Commission has published its latest gambling market figures for April 2025 to March 2026 – see more details:
- Great Britain’s gambling market generated GBP 17.5bn (ca. EUR 20.4bn) in GGY between April 2025 and March 2026. Great Britain gambling GGY was 4.4% higher than a year earlier.
- Remote casino, betting and bingo generated GBP 8.3bn (ca. EUR 9.7bn), up 6.9%. This was close to half of Great Britain gambling GGY. Online casino made up the largest share.
- Online casino GGY reached GBP 5.7bn (ca. EUR 6.6bn), including GBP 4.8bn (ca. EUR 5.6bn) from slots. Remote betting generated GBP 2.4bn (ca. EUR 2.8bn). Football accounted for GBP 1.2bn (ca. EUR 1.4bn) and horse racing GBP 769.3m (ca. EUR 896m).
- Land-based gambling generated GBP 4.9bn (ca. EUR 5.7bn), up 1.1%. Betting shops contributed GBP 2.4bn (ca. EUR 2.8bn), while casinos recorded GBP 933.9m (ca. EUR 1.1bn) and Bingo generated GBP 703.8m (ca. EUR 820m).
- The number of betting shops fell 3.6% to 5,617. Overall, Great Britain had 8,081 licensed gambling premises. The Commission also recorded 2,154 operators.
- National Lottery ticket sales reached GBP 7.9bn (ca EUR 9.2bn) up 0.9%. Large society lottery sales rose 5.7% to GBP 1.2bn (ca. EUR 1.4bn).
