Hong Kong Jockey Club’s latest numbers are in, and they’re hefty. The HKJC annual results for the FY 2024/2025 (ended 30th of June 2025) point to stronger betting volumes, wider international reach and a bigger community contribution – see below more details:

  • Total wagering and lottery turnover hit HK$320.3bn for the financial year, a 5.0% uplift.  Total turnover was split as follows: Football betting was top with HK$172.8bn, followed by horse racing with HK$138.5bn and Mark Six Lottery with HK$9.0bn.

  • Football betting set a new record at HK$172.8bn in turnover, generating HK$13.3bn in betting duty (including Special Football Betting Duty accruals). The football betting licence has been renewed for five years from 18 July 2025. The government’s proposal for regulated basketball betting advanced through public consultation and legislative processes.

  • Horse racing: Commingling remained a key growth driver – this is the case then bettors outside Hong Kong place wagers that are merged directly into the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s betting pools.  In numbers this means that HK$33.8bn came from non-local customers, accounting for 24.4% of Hong Kong racing turnover.

  • Total betting and lottery revenue (including commingling and royalties) reached a record HK$43.8bn which is distributed across betting duty, operations and donations, with 73% of betting/lottery revenue flowing back to Hong Kong.
