IGT has opened a new chapter with Hector Fernandez officially stepping in as CEO. The IGT CEO transition marks a shift in how the business will be led across its Gaming, Digital and FinTech units. The company says the move positions it for its next stage of development.
Fernandez arrives with senior experience from a competing global gaming company and will oversee the combined enterprise once regulatory approvals are in. He is now based in Las Vegas, aligning closely with IGT’s operational headquarters. “I’m honored and excited to lead IGT into its next chapter,” he said.
The IGT CEO transition follows the integration of legacy IGT and Everi teams under Apollo’s structure. Apollo’s Daniel Cohen said the new leadership setup is expected to support faster product and content development across the portfolio. He added that Fernandez shares the goal of building a strong, people-first culture.
Nick Khin steps down from his interim CEO and Gaming unit roles and moves into a strategic advisor position. IGT says Khin’s guidance during the transition has been important for continuity. Digital chief Gil Rotem and FinTech head Darren Simmons remain in their roles as IGT stabilises its organisational framework.
