According to the Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) the Dutch online gambling market generated EUR 670m in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in H1 2026, up 11% from H2 2025 – see more details:

  • Casino and sports betting: Online casino games generated around EUR 492m, accounting for 73% of regulated GGR. Sports betting reached EUR 163m, or 24%, up from EUR 120m in H2 2025. Other casino games and horse betting made up the remaining share.
  • Sports betting growth: The Ksa linked part of the increase to the FIFA World Cup, which started in June 2026. Sports betting revenue can fluctuate depending on major match results. The regulator reported an 11% increase in overall GGR.
  • Active players: Active gambling accounts increased from 1.38m to 1.48m. Around 820,000 people gambled online during H1 2026, with 490,000 active in an average month. The figures suggest more players are using multiple accounts.
  • Channelisation: The Netherlands online gambling channelisation rate based on GGR rose from 54% to 59%. Based on player numbers, the legal market accounted for an estimated 94–97%. This suggests higher average losses among players using illegal gambling sites.
  • Player losses: Average monthly losses at licensed operators remained EUR 75 per account, with a median of EUR 47. Young adults lost EUR 34 per month on average. The Ksa reported that young adults remained overrepresented among online gamblers.
  • Licensed operators: The Netherlands online gambling market had 31 licensed operators at the end of June 2026. Of these, 28 were actively offering gambling services. Casino games and sports betting were the main products offered.
