Helge Løken is stepping down as CTO at Norsk Tipping. The move follows a review of how the company runs its technical operations. As Norsk Tipping leadership shifts, the company says it now needs a different operational profile.

  • Norsk Tipping said the decision was mutual and directly linked to new priorities around technical operations. Acting CEO Vegar Strand noted that the company’s needs have evolved and thanked Løken for his work, saying: “Helge has contributed valuable expertise in a challenging period.” The company added it requires a leader with stronger operational experience going forward.

  • Løken said his original mandate focused on improving development capabilities. He explained that the past year forced the company to give operational stability more attention. He added that stepping aside makes sense given Norsk Tipping’s updated direction.

  • Norsk Tipping will shift to an interim setup while defining long-term tech leadership needs. The company said the transition should help adjust its structure to current operational priorities. Recruitment for the new role is expected to reflect the stronger operational focus mentioned earlier.
