Finland’s gambling market is moving closer to a competitive licensing model set to launch in 2027. As regulatory requirements increase, operators are investing more heavily in player protection technology. OpenBet is supporting that shift through an expanded deployment of its Neccton platform at Veikkaus.
- OpenBet will roll out the latest version of the Neccton platform across Veikkaus’ online and retail operations helping to identify signs of potentially harmful gambling behaviour as they emerge. It also supports automated alerts and customer interventions based on real-time data.
- The upgraded system is designed to help responsible gambling teams work more efficiently. It combines behavioural data, risk indicators and player history into clear summaries that are easier to review and act on. While AI helps process the information, final decisions remain with Veikkaus staff.
- The rollout builds on the long-running relationship between the two companies. OpenBet has supplied Veikkaus with its sportsbook platform and Managed Trading Services since 2025, and the addition of the Neccton platform extends that partnership into player protection. The move comes as Finnish operators prepare for new obligations under the country’s updated gambling legislation.
