Pennsylvania’s Gaming Control Board published its September figures on 19 October. With Q3 complete, we compare Pennsylvania online gaming with the same quarter last year. While OGQNews uses calendar quarters, Pennsylvania reports on a fiscal-year basis, making July–September Q1 of FY 2026–27. Online casino GGR grew faster than the overall market, while retail casino GGR declined.
Total gaming revenue (retail and online): Pennsylvania generated USD 1.72 billion (ca. EUR 1.48 billion) in Q3 2026, up 2.5% from USD 1.67 billion (ca. EUR 1.44 billion) a year earlier. The total covers casino gaming, taxable sports betting revenue, video gaming terminals and fantasy contests. Casino GGR generally represents wagers minus player winnings, before taxes and operating costs, while sports betting revenue is reported after promotional-credit adjustments.
- Online casino growth: Online casino GGR rose 7.4% to ca. USD 744 million (ca. EUR 640 million), compared with ca. USD 693 million (ca. EUR 596 million) in Q3 2025. Its share of total gaming revenue increased from 41.4% to 43.4%, up 2.0 percentage points. Pennsylvania online casino gaming therefore grew faster than the overall market.
Online sports betting: Online sportsbooks generated USD 127.5 million (ca. EUR 110 million) in taxable revenue in Q3 2026, up 18.4% from USD 107.7 million (ca. EUR 92.6 million) a year earlier. Online betting accounted for 93.8% of total sports betting taxable revenue. Before promotional credits, revenue reached ca. USD 200 million (ca. EUR 172 million).
US market position: Pennsylvania was the largest regulated online casino market in the US in 2025, according to the American Gaming Association. Together, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Jersey accounted for nearly 90% of US online casino GGR. Pennsylvania’s market size makes it an important indicator of US online gambling trends.
