Play’n GO is putting its foot down. The Swedish gaming company has made it official: its games won’t appear on any sweepstakes casino platforms. Play’n GO sweepstakes casino ban aligns with their broader push for a more regulated and sustainable gaming industry.

  • CEO Johan Törnqvist stated that sweepstakes casinos operate outside regulated frameworks and are not compatible with Play’n GO’s values. He emphasized their “absolute” commitment to regulated markets, saying, “We will never supply our games to sweepstakes casinos.” This position is part of a wider effort to distance from unregulated models.

  • The company’s Head of Government Affairs, Shawn Fluharty, warned that these casinos threaten the licensed market structure. He pointed out that U.S. regulators are already cracking down on such operations. Fluharty added that doing business with sweepstakes casinos today may block companies from future legal markets.

  • Play’n GO’s long-term industry approach is focused on sustainable regulation and player protection. The company has historically refused to engage in grey-area practices, such as offering ‘bonus buy’ games. These games are now banned in countries like the UK and the Netherlands.

  • The supplier was recently named a priority partner by German casino operator Tipico. As part of that agreement, Tipico removed all content from suppliers active in both regulated and unregulated markets. Play’n GO’s clear stance boosted its status as a trustworthy partner.

  • Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer, acknowledged the company has sacrificed revenue with these decisions. However, he stated the goal is to help build an industry that can thrive long term. He said, “We want to see a fully regulated and sustainable industry that protects players.”
