Playtech confirmed that senior independent director Ian Penrose plans to step down from the board after the publication of the group’s 2026 final results. He will remain in his current positions until spring 2027 to support a smooth leadership transition. Playtech board changes also led to the withdrawal of a board re-election resolution at the company’s AGM.

  • Ian Penrose notified Playtech of his intention to leave the board after nearly nine years with the company. He will continue as senior independent director and chair of the audit and risk committee until after the 2026 results are published. Playtech said the arrangement is intended to support a smooth transition to his successors.
  • Chairman John Gleasure thanked Penrose for his contribution since joining the board in 2018. Gleasure said Penrose had played a role during a period of “significant shareholder value creation and strategic transition”. Playtech board changes come as the supplier continues to adjust its governance structure.
  • Playtech also confirmed that Resolution 6 at its AGM on 20 May 2026 was withdrawn following Penrose’s decision not to seek re-election. The company said all other AGM resolutions, proxy forms and submitted votes remain unchanged. Playtech operates across more than 50 regulated and regulating markets worldwide with over 7,400 employees.
