Polymarket has appointed Ari Borod as President of Sports Business Development. The move comes as the company pushes ahead with its Polymarket sports expansion strategy. The focus is on building partnerships and growing its presence in prediction markets around live sports.
Borod joins Polymarket after working in the sports sector, most recently linked to the company’s sports vertical. He will oversee business development efforts tied to sports-focused prediction markets. His role centres on partnerships, commercial deals and market positioning.
Borod will work closely with CEO Shayne Coplan and the wider leadership team. The objective is to support the next phase of product and commercial growth. This forms part of the wider Polymarket sports expansion roadmap.
Before joining Polymarket in January 2026, Borod spent more than four years at Fanatics serving as Chief Business Officer from August 2022 to January 2026. Prior to that, he held the role of Chief Commercial Officer at the company.
Earlier in his career, Borod worked at The Action Network for just over two years and for FanDuel between 2015 and 2019, including Vice President of Fantasy Sports. He began his career as an Associate at law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. His background combines legal, commercial and operational experience across sports and betting.
