XP International has entered a partnership with US platform Kalshi to introduce prediction markets Brazil. The initiative gives Brazilian clients access to contracts tied to real-world economic events. The move adds prediction markets Brazil as a new asset class within XP’s international investment offering.
XP International confirmed that clients of Clear (brand of XP) who hold an international investment account will be able to access the new contracts through the platform. The partnership allows Brazilian investors to trade prediction markets alongside other global assets.
- For Kalshi, the agreement marks its first strategic partnership with a financial institution outside the United States. The collaboration expands the reach of the platform to investors in Latin America.
Lucas Rabechini, director of financial products at XP Inc., said the company sees the product as an additional tool for investors. “Prediction markets introduce a new asset class to the Brazilian market, offering investors one more tool for scenario analysis, positioning, and portfolio protection,” he said. He added that the market could broaden the range of instruments available to clients.
Luana Lopes Lara, co-founder and COO of Kalshi, described the partnership as a step toward wider international access. “XP is one of Brazil’s largest financial institutions; expanding prediction markets to Brazil is an important step in providing more people around the world with access to fair, safe, and regulated markets,” she said.
Starting with markets on macroeconomic events
The first set of markets will centre on macroeconomic events such as inflation releases, monetary policy decisions, and other indicators. According to XP, the contracts can serve as a tool for analysing market expectations and building diversified portfolios. Access will be introduced gradually and aligned with client suitability and regulatory requirements.
XP said the contracts will trade directly between market participants rather than against a house counterparty. The feature mirrors the structure used in other derivatives markets. Prediction markets will therefore sit alongside equities, ETFs, bonds, and other derivatives already offered through XP’s international platform.
