The Rank Group has confirmed a change in senior leadership early in 2026. Chief executive John O’Reilly has informed the board of his decision to retire later this month. The move sets up a short transition period for the Rank Group CEO role.

  • John O’Reilly will retire as Rank Group CEO on 29 January 2026 following discussions with the board. He will remain with the business until the end of the 2025/26 financial year to support the handover. O’Reilly has led the group since April 2018.

  • Chief Financial Officer Richard Harris will step in as interim Rank Group CEO from 30 January. Harris joined Rank in May 2022 and has been an executive director since his appointment. The board said his knowledge of the business will help ensure continuity.

  • A formal process to appoint a permanent CEO is now under way. Rank chair John H. Ott said: “On behalf of the Board and everyone at Rank, I would like to express my sincere thanks to John O’Reilly for his leadership.” Details on executive remuneration will be published in line with statutory requirements.
