Sarah Fox is joining the UK Gambling Commission‘s Executive Team on secondment from DCMS (Department for Culture, Media and Sport). The Sarah Fox UK Gambling Commission appointment brings an experienced gambling policy official into a key leadership role. She will oversee policy, research, statistics and National Lottery regulation.

  • Fox led the Gambling and Lotteries team at DCMS for the past four years. She worked on the Gambling Act white paper, the fourth National Lottery licence and policy covering society lotteries and horse racing. The Sarah Fox UK Gambling Commission appointment comes as the regulator completes the final stages of the white paper reforms.
  • Acting Chief Executive Sarah Gardner said Fox’s experience across gambling and lotteries would be valuable for the Commission’s strategy. She said Fox would help assess the impact of recent reforms while protecting National Lottery players and returns to Good Causes.
  • Fox has more than 23 years of Civil Service experience across several government departments. She said she was “really excited” to join the Commission and help make gambling “safer, fairer and crime free.”
