Scientific Games has announced that Chief Executive Officer Pat McHugh will retire on 8 September 2026 after more than 20 years with the company. Kevin Schneider will take over as Interim CEO while the Board searches for a permanent successor. McHugh will remain involved as Vice Chair in an advisory role to support the transition.

  • Pat McHugh joined Scientific Games in 2004 after beginning his lottery career at GTECH in 1992. He became CEO in 2022 after holding several senior leadership positions across the company’s global lottery business. During his time in charge, Scientific Games expanded its lottery operations and continued developing retail and digital lottery technologies.
  • Following McHugh’s retirement, Kevin Schneider will assume the role of Interim CEO from 8 September 2026. Schneider has served on the Scientific Games Board since 2022 and has been Vice Chair since March 2026.
  • Board Chairman David Nowak thanked McHugh for his contribution over more than two decades. He said: “The Board has initiated the search for our next CEO and has full confidence in Kevin to lead the company as Interim CEO”.
