Spain is introducing deposit limits covering all licensed online gambling operators. The Spain deposit limits will apply across accounts rather than separately to each operator. The new rules take effect on 26 March 2027.
- Global deposit limits: Players will face default limits of EUR 700 daily, EUR 1,750 weekly and EUR 3,300 over four weeks. These apply across all licensed operators combined. Spain’s gambling regulator DGOJ will monitor compliance.
- Changing limits: Players can request higher limits or remove the defaults. Changes take three working days to become effective. Increases are only allowed once every three months.
- Multiple operators: Around one-third of active online gamblers use more than one operator. The Spain deposit limits aim to prevent players from bypassing restrictions through multiple accounts. Existing operator-specific limits will remain in place.
- New Player Portal: The DGOJ has launched a portal showing players their deposits, bets, winnings and losses across operators. Users can also manage limits and set spending alerts.
